Lyle D. Miller, 47, on November 19, 2009 resident of Dobbs Ferry, New York beloved husband of Jerrie, father of Hannah and Sam. Former village trustee and deputy mayor. Memorial Service 1PM Sunday November 22, Ardsley Country Club, Ardsley on Hudson, NY Visiting 2-5 Saturday Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home In lieu of flowers donations to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute-Multiple Myeloma Division, Boston, Massachusetts.

Jerrie, Hannah and Sam: I was so saddened to learn of the passing of your husband and father. I first met Lyle when I was the Chairman of DPL Inc. in Dayton Ohio and Lyle was the Morgan Stanley representative who helped us with so many business and financial issues at a difficult time. He was a true professional. Intelligent, knowledgeable, totally trustworthy, caring and straightforward. We became good friends as well as business colleagues. I will always remember and admire his delightful sense of humor and his aura of calmness under the most stressful of circumstances. He was a first rate professional and wonderful friend. I knew your parents back when they were in high school. Both of them gave 100% to any task, including their devotion to one another. My hope for the two of you would be that you take the example that your parents set with their own lives and use it to accomplish all of your own dreams.

You are a courageous woman and, as Brian sang at graduation all those years ago, you will never walk alone.

I remember shopping for an ipod for Lyle with Valarie for his 40th. I had never heard of it, he was way ahead of his time. I remember the great party for the occassion. I remember him sitting in his chair with his cigar on your deck enjoying your beatiful setting, how great he was on the DFSF Board, how he smiled when we had our mother/daughter book group at your house and were all giggly with the girls. Our congregation lit a candle of sorrow for the passing of Lyle and for Jerrie and the children. Pam Prescott spoke to us so lovingly about how important Lyle was to her.
