Lucy Fuller Coney was born in Hawkinsville, Georgia on October 19, 1914 to the late Rosa Belle Ward and the late Irvin Fuller. She lived in Georgia and had a daughter Rose with her husband the late Virgil Coney. Lucy and her daughter Rose moved to Passaic, New Jersey in the 1940's to work as a professional housekeeper for Harry and Dorothy Friedman and their two children Louis and Florence. Lucy and Rose bought a home on Highland Avenue in Passaic, NJ where she lived in until 2006. Her daughter Rose died in 1994 from a heart attack. Rose was a beautiful woman who lived with Lucy and despite Rose's special needs she helped take care of the home while Lucy went to work. Also of special note was her long-time partner Joseph Baker who died in 1987. In the late 1950's Lucy went to work for Florence Friedman Platt who was then married to Arnold Platt. Lucy went on to help raise the Platt family's four children; Marc, Ann Ellen, Stuart and Lisa. She completed her official working years with this family. On a special note, Lucy continued to work for the late Arnold Platt once all the children were grown and helped him in his final days. The Platt and Friedman families are extremely grateful for all Lucy's years of service to these two generations.
