Betty, Elizabeth, Liz, and Aunt; she was that to our family. But she knew no bounds for family or friends, she treated each soul she met with dignity, caring, and compassion. She opened her home with her husband, George, to so many little children that grew with love that they may never ever would have received kindness, no less love, even though a few misquided lost their way, she continued to care for any that touched her life. She adored her daughter Ellen, who in more recent years, was called into a role of caretaker, nurse, and protector. She was the force that kept Betty with us as long as we were able to keep her. God Bless Betty, she is receiving her eternal reward. Loved by me and my family.

Mrs. Lewit was part of the fabric of the Irvington community. As a girl scout in Irvington in the early '70s, I remember she brought our troop all over to the ambulance corps. and taught us CPR and First Aid. She was a person who sought to set right in the world. Our condolences to the entire family. especially, Jimmy. Heidi & Jon Elwyn
